The new computer service company NErds to Go has recently come to West Hartford, offering residents and local businesses personal computer repair and maintenance service.
Nerds to Go, headquartered in Guilford, was started in 2003 by David Colella, who was looking to go into business for himself after spending 160 years in the technology industry working with such corporations as IBM, Dell and Microsoft. While working with these companies, mainly as a general manger in charge of service, Coella said that he began to notice how prevalent to use of personal computers had become to both small business owners and home PC users and decided to start his own business with the needs of these people in mind. After putting together a business model with his wife Kristina, Colella's dream of owning his own business came true and Nerds to GO was born.
"the idea behind this company is to help provide quality computer service for personal PC users and small business owners who do not have a specific outlet for support," Colella said. "the business mdoel that we have put together with NErds to Go focuses specifically on these people and their needs. When I first started this business I did not really know where it was heading, but with my wife's help, we were able to get the business off the ground and it has been growing in leaps and bounds since then."

Colella currently has a staff of 30 "Nerds" who service a specific area within Connecticut and by year's end, he said he hopes to have over 100 employees working for him. He said that his overall goal for Nerds to Go is to become a nationwide franchise known as the "Starbucks of computer repair."
When they are called upon, Colella's Nerds embark from their headquarters in Guilford in their custom bright yellow Toyota Scion XB "Nerd Mobiles" to offer their computer repair service to those who need them, Colella siad that all of his employees are hired for the professional skills they have witih both computers and the people who use them.
"All of our Nerds are well trained and have a lot of experience in the field," Colella said. "But more than that, our people know how to make our customers feel comfortable because they have excellent costumer service and communication skills that are second to none. They make the customer as comfortable as possible eand do everything they can to meet their needs and that is what we are all about."
Micheal Elansky, the Nerd responsible for servicing West Hartford, said that he has loved working for Nerds to Go and shared Colella's commitment to providing quality customer service.

"This is the kind of job that I had been looking for and when I started to though myself into it 150 percent," said Elansky, who is a West Hartford resident and graduate of Hall High School. "We have and amazing staff here and an excellent support structure that allows us to be very efficient. We do not offer service that is a band-aid approach to a severed limb, we work with any problems that our customers have and provide them with a solution that they can understand."
"There have been a lot of people who have seen our name and our unique vehicles and wanted to know more about us," Colella added. "Our goal is to be the top of the line computer service company in the country, but for now we will remain committed to serving the people of Connecticut and doing everything we can to meet their needs."
